Better Labels in Plate Overviews

What is the challenge?

The labels in our plate overviews are "suboptimal". If we read 4 fields in a 384 well plate we get either

  • no label ... and we have to count rosw/columns

  • small ... in every well we get for each field one label like "M23:4" which are (a) difficult to read and distract a lot from the image

  • watermark ... we get a good idea where which well is, but there are for each well additional field numbers which again distract a lot from the image.

The focus in a plate overview is often not on the individual field, but to get a visual impression of the whole plate / of the wells in the plate.

What is the impact?

Usability in assay development and first impression in demos are affected. Both can influence buying decisions of our customers.

Describe your idea

Add another option in the "Labels:" selection of the plate overview. Call it "Well" and just put the well coordinate in the top left corner of the well. No mentioning of the fields.
